This recall petition was initiated by community members who are deeply concerned about our lack of proper representation. Many attempts to contact Rebecca Schulz about important issues have gone unanswered.
Rebecca Schulz voted in favour of using the Notwithstanding Clause to override the rights of teachers. This unprecedented use of the Notwithstanding Clause cannot be left unchallenged in order to protect the rights of each one of us.
To be eligible to sign this recall petition, you must be an eligible elector who has resided in the Calgary Shaw riding for at least 3 months.
You can sign even if you did not vote in the last election.
If you are not sure if Rebecca Schulz is your MLA, enter your address in the Elections Alberta MLA search page.
15,000 Signatures in 90 Days
In order for this petition to meet Elections Alberta requirements, we must gather 15,000 Calgary Shaw resident signatures in 90 days.
This is a big undertaking so we encourage you to come out and sign the petition to demand change. We are always looking for volunteer canvassers and would be grateful to anyone who applies.
The Petition Application Statement:
“I am requesting the recall of Rebecca Schulz, who has consistently failed to address the concerns of her constituents or issues addressed through emails.
She has voted in favour of Bill 2: Back to School Act, which has violated her own constituents constitutional right to strike and negotiate.
She has been involved in a 2023 conflict of interest case, involving her husband working for a lobbyist group attempting to open caribou habitats for exploitation, whilst her ministry’s purpose should be focused on protecting these areas.
She is unfit to lead and has demonstrated priority for herself over her own riding.”
